The
natural habitat of the Chimpanzee, or Pan troglodytes, is western and
west central Africa. There are three
subspecies - Eastern (P. t. schweinfurthii), Central (P. t.
troglodytes), and Western (P. t. verus). Each subspecies lives in a
different part of the contentment separated by geographical barriers
with very little intermixing.
It is
our hope to collect at least one sample from each the the three
subspecies's. For more information on
